Melaney’sMNDFight is a community fundraiser supporting Melaney and her family following her diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease. Through donations, event tickets, auction night support, merchandise and local community fundraising, we are helping raise funds for urgent accessibility needs and family support.

MEL'S STORY
A much loved teacher, facing the hardest fight

Melaney grew up in the close-knit community of Iluka and has spent her life making a difference in the lives of children, families and everyone lucky enough to know her. In September 2024, Mel was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. In the midst of that journey, she and her partner Brendan welcomed their daughter, Emmi — a source of hope and light through an incredibly difficult time.
As MND progresses, the family's home is no longer suited to Mel's changing needs. Our community is coming together to help fund an accessible home extension — including a bedroom for Emmi — and an accessible vehicle, so Mel can keep getting to appointments and making memories with her family.
